Common name: Foxtail Millet

Untreated seed; packed by volume so seed quantity is approximate. Available in two pack sizes: 

Gardener packet 200 seeds; Grower packet 1000 seeds.

Half hardy annual. DTM 60-70.

Foxtail Millet has bronze-green textural seed heads that add an interesting dimension to late-season floral arrangements. They dry exceptionally well and are a popular grass to use in dried flower displays.

Sow under cover four weeks before your last frost date; sow outside after the risk of frost has passed. Sowing temp 21-24°C; germination between 7-14 days in optimum conditions. Sow in succession for stems to cut throughout late summer and autumn. Requires full sun and well-drained soil. 

Cut when the seed head has matured and place straight into water; no special conditioning required. Cut dry if stems are intended for drying; hang upside down to dry.

Vase life: 10-14 days; will last indefinitely when dried.
