Gorgeous in the garden as well as the vase, Ammi majus is a key summer cut flower crop. It's blooms are reminiscent of cow parsley and it is the quintessential frothy filler flower! Ammi Queen of Africa is an improvement over the standard species and produces better quality flowers for cutting with stronger stems and larger blooms.

Sow Feb-May or Aug-Sept to overwinter for flowers the following year. Pre-chill seed for 2 weeks prior to sowing to aid germination. Sowing temp 15-21°C; germination between 7-14 days in optimum conditions. Sow in succession for continuous harvest May-Sep.

Cut when 75% of the inflorescence is open and pollen has not yet started to shed; stems cut in bud will not hydrate properly. Place immediately into water; this variety should be conditioned in deep water overnight before use.

Vase life: 7-9 days
