Hardy annual. DTM 90-100

Annual scabious is an excellent pollinator plant for the garden as well as beautiful and prolific cut flower crop. Available in a wide range of colours, they can be overwintered and sown in succession in spring for a continuous harvest. Salmon Queen blooms in a range of pale- to mid-pink shades. Can be grown in a tunnel or under glass.

Sow Feb-May or Aug-Sept to overwinter for flowers the following year. Sowing temp 18-21°C. Cover sparingly as light aids germination which takes 10-14 days in optimum conditions.

Cut as soon as the buds are fully coloured and the petals begin to unfurl, or once the flower is open (but before the stamens fully emerge). Place straight into water and move to a cool place; no special conditioning required.

Vase life: 7-9 days
