Strawflowers are excellent cut flowers, and their other common name - Everlastings - says everything about how long they last as dried flowers!

Sow Mar-May, approx four weeks before your last frost date. Sowing temp 21-24°C; germination between 7-14 days in optimum conditions. Plant out when all risk of frost has passed. Needs support.

Cut as the bud begins to open and the centre of the bloom becomes visible. Bunch and place straight into water and move to a cool place; no special conditioning required. If cutting to dry, strip all leaves and hand upside down, or fresh flower heads can be wired for drying.

Vase life: 7-10 days fresh; will last indefinitely when dried.
