Personally recommended by Cel as one of the best branching sunflowers she has ever grown on her flower farm! This new pollen-less variety is the perfect blend of colours for late summer and autumn blooms and has been bred specifically for cut flower production. The stems are robust, and the flower heads tilt upwards with no drooping or soft neck issues once cut. Long flowering for the garden border too!
Sow under cover 3-4 weeks before your last frost date; sow outside or plant out after risk of frost has passed. Sow in succession until June for a continuous harvest. Sowing temp 18-21°C; germination between 7-14 days in optimum conditions. Cel plants out at 30cm spacing; pinch the tip once five pairs of leaves have formed.
Cut sunflowers as the first couple of petals begin to lift off of the flower bud. Sunflowers cut fully open are easily damaged in transit, and pollination reduces vase life. Place immediately into water and condition in a cool place; no special conditioning requirements.
Vase life: 7-10 days
