The Minilisi® series is a new introduction with an abundance of mini-size blooms produced on the stem, offering something a little different to typical varieties! It is a Group II Lisianthus and it is a fast-growing variety, performing well in protected cropping situations. Lisianthus blooms are susceptible to weather damage which is why tunnel cultivation is recommended.
Sow Feb-Apr. Do not cover as light is required for germination. Sowing temp 21-24°C; germination between 10-15 days in optimum conditions. Requires a long propagation time of 10-12 weeks prior to planting into a protected growing environment for best results.
To prevent rosetting (which inhibits flowering), daytime temps should not rise above 29°C; ideal night-time temps are around 13-15°C.
Each branched stem will hold multiple buds; the initial bud on the stem can be pinched out in order for the rest of the buds to open more evenly. Cut as soon as the first blooms open and the remaining buds will continue to open in the vase. Place immediately into water and condition in a cool place; no special conditioning requirements.
Vase life: 10-14 days
