Common name: Foxglove

Untreated, British-grown seed. This variety is packed by volume so all pack quantities are approximate. Available in two pack sizes:

Gardener packet 30 seeds; Grower packet 200 seeds.

Biennial. Requires a period of vernalisation (overwintering) to produce flowers.

This fantastic foxglove variety has upward-facing florets arranged all around the stem, in a contrast to typical foxgloves where the bell-like blooms hang downwards. The colour in this mix ranges from white through to peachy-pink and deep pink.

Depending on location, sow Feb-June; biennial varieties should be sown by midsummer to ensure a good show of flowers in the following season. Sow at 18-21°C; do not cover when sowing as light will aid germination which should take 14-21 days in optimum conditions. Plant out from mid to late summer; plants need to develop a robust root system before the onset of winter, and flowering will occur through May-June in the following year.

Cut when 30% of the blooms along the flower spike are open. Strip the lower leaves and place straight into water; keep stems upright to prevent them from bending towards the light. Foxgloves are known to be 'dirty stems' which foul water rapidly, so change the water frequently to prolong vase life.

Vase life: 7-10 days.
