A wonderful spike flower for summer weddings and perfect for drying. Misty Lavender is an exceptional dusky lavender-grey colour.
Sow Feb-May or Aug-Sep to overwinter for earlier flowers the following year. Pre-chill the seed to aid germination which will take 14-21 days in optimum conditions. Sowing temp: 12-16°C. Can be pinched to stimulate uniform size stems for cutting.
Cut when 30-50% of the flowers on the spike are open; buds will continue to open in the vase. If cutting for drying allow 50-80% of the blooms to open but harvest before petals begin to drop. Flowers decline quickly after pollination. Place immediately into water and move to a cool place; no special conditioning required.
Vase life: 6-8 days
