The lovely setaria has deep purple-bronze leaves and flower heads - it's the perfect choice for a rich autumnal colour scheme! The textural seed heads that add an interesting dimension to late-season floral arrangements. They dry exceptionally well and are a popular grass to use in dried flower displays.
Sow under cover four weeks before your last frost date; sow outside after the risk of frost has passed. Sowing temp 21-24°C; germination between 7-14 days in optimum conditions. Sow in succession for stems to cut throughout late summer and autumn. Requires full sun and well-drained soil.
Cut when the seed head has matured and place straight into water; no special conditioning required. Cut dry if stems are intended for drying; hang upside down to dry.
Vase life: 10-14 days; will last indefinitely when dried.
